We were commissioned by the client to build a specialised barn designed to house a swim spa, providing a space for the client to swim at home and relieve pain from an ongoing medical condition. The project involved constructing the barn on the footprint of a previously derelict building that was no longer fit for purpose.
In adapting the existing design, we replaced the flat roof with a pitched roof and updated the building to match the aesthetic of the surrounding outbuildings on the property. The interior was designed with water-resistant, easy-to-clean materials to ensure durability and functionality.
The project was completed on schedule, and the client has since requested quotes for additional works around the property.
We were commissioned to build a pool house at a family-owned farmhouse, transforming an underutilised space into a functional and enjoyable area. The project included creating a shower room, toilet, changing room, and a pump room for the pool’s operation. Additionally, we designed a communal area for guests to relax and enjoy while using the pool.
The project was completed on schedule, and we have since returned to complete further work for the same client.

We were commissioned by Pip and Polly Bulgin to build a new house on the footprint of a demolished barn, with the vision of creating a peaceful rural retreat for Airbnb guests. The goal was to design a property that would offer visitors a comfortable and relaxing escape from city life, allowing them to enjoy the surrounding countryside in style. The design incorporated modern amenities while maintaining a rustic charm, making it the perfect getaway for those looking for a tranquil setting.
Our team worked closely with the clients to ensure every detail aligned with their vision, and we completed the project on schedule, meeting all the specifications they desired. The property was built with high-quality materials to ensure longevity and comfort, creating a welcoming atmosphere for future guests.
This project marked our second collaboration with the Bulgin family, following a successful refurbishment of a property in Witham. For that project, we expanded the living space and updated the property to make it more suitable for the rental market, ensuring it would attract high-quality tenants. Our continued partnership with the Bulgin family is a testament to the trust and satisfaction they have in our work.
We were initially called in to install a new kitchen, which eventually led to a much larger project involving the complete renovation of both the front and back gardens. The project also included relaying the existing patio walkway along the side of the house. As we began to work on the garden, we realized the space had significant potential that hadn’t been fully realized, so we worked closely with the homeowners to ensure they could make the best use of the entire area.
We created a beautifully designed decked area off the back of the house, framed by newly built rendered blockwork planters. This design seamlessly blended with the full-width patio surrounding the existing Portuguese BBQ and pizza oven, which became a central feature of the garden. To further enhance the space, we constructed a path that led to a newly poured concrete base, which will eventually support a log cabin. The log cabin will serve as a home office for the client, providing them with the necessary space to work from home without disrupting the family’s use of the main living areas.
Throughout the project, we successfully managed the client’s changing needs and ensured that the work was completed to their satisfaction. Although we are yet to return to install the log cabin, as the client is still budgeting for this aspect, we maintain ongoing communication to ensure that when they are ready to proceed, we are prepared to fulfill their requirements.
Additionally, the client has been so pleased with the work we’ve done so far that they have commissioned us for other projects not originally requested, which is a great testament to the quality of our craftsmanship and our commitment to meeting their needs.
